Hirose EnerBee DF63 Series 3.96 mm Crimp Socket Housings
These DF63 Series 3.96 mm wire to board small power supply crimp socket housings are part of the EnerBee range. The EnerBee name represents the concept of high-end, superior performance in a compact size like the small yet busy bee! The DF63 series has a maximum current capacity of 15A when used with 16 AWG wire. The housings of these DF63 3.96 mm socket connectors feature a robust positive locking mechanism designed to prevent accidental unmating caused by drops or external shocks. When mated, a clear, tactile click is produced which confirms the connector is fully engaged guaranteeing a complete electrical and mechanical connection. This positive locking mechanism is on the centre of the housing which enables even locking and prevents cable entanglement that side locks can cause. The DF63 3.96 mm crimp socket housings feature a protection mechanism which prevents incomplete insertion of the mating crimp contacts. Moulded contact retention tabs or lances are built in to the housing instead of the crimp terminals which help prevent tangled wires during assembly. The housing design also features colour coding and keying to prevent incorrect mating between different number of postions. The contacts of these DF63 connectors are separated by walls inside the enabling them to be independent of one another and preventing short circuits.
