The VEMT4700 series, from Vishay Semiconductor, are silicon NPN phototransistors. They are in standard surface mount (SMD) PLCC-3 packages. The VEMT4700 come both with or without a daylight filter. This enables the device to block out ambient visible light. Packages without the daylight filter are sensitive to visible and near IR radiation
Suitable applications for the VEMT4700 series include; photo interrupters, miniature switches, counters, encoders and position sensors.
